Encourage Yourself

There will be times in your life when you may feel all alone or if no one cares. During those times the comforting words of loved ones may not be enough to lift you out of despair.

Knowing the word of God will enable you to encourage yourself.  Encouraging yourself is harder than encouraging others because it requires objectivity.  It can be challenging to remain objective when you’re so close to a situation.

Using God’s word to encourage yourself will help you believe in your abilities. Your faith is not in what you can accomplish, but rather what He can accomplish through you.

As you encourage yourself, it is important to celebrate progress toward your goals, no matter how small. Staying focused on your future is essential to maintaining momentum.

To encourage means to inspire with courage, spirit, or hope. You can use God’s word to do all three. John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

When you know God’s word and apply it to your situation, you will receive all the power and faith you need to encourage yourself.
