If you’re like me, you’ve probably questioned God about why you’ve had to go through what you’ve been through. No one enjoys painful experiences, but you must ask yourself what’s God trying to teach you during those challenging moments.
You’ve probably also seen the aftermath of a forest fire. The scene is one of devastation. There’s nothing left but the char and ashes; remnants of the beauty that previously existed. It would be easy to focus on and mourn the loss of what was once there. However, the victory comes from recognizing the blessings of what remains.
God specializes in making all things new. No matter what type of loss you’ve experienced, God always replaces it with something better. His extension of grace towards you is lasting and durable, perfect and complete. Put your faith in him to give you beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning. Always remember that anything dead needs to be buried! Let go of what you had and run desperately toward what God has for you now, while wearing a garment of praise.
Isaiah 61:3 “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”
