There may be times in your life when it feels like you’re all alone. This can happen for many reasons, but a common cause is the rejection of others. The rejection of others is very difficult to process, especially if it comes from someone you care about.
The result of rejection by one’s family, a friend or romantic partner may result in painful emotions and low self-esteem. Although everyone experiences rejection on some scale during their lives, the way it is processed by each person is very unique.
There are some people who go through life with an “Unbothered” attitude regarding the opinion of others. However, that’s a small percentage of people and if the truth be told, rejection affects them too, they just choose not to show their vulnerability to others.
For those of you who have felt the pain of rejection, King David offers a panacea for your pain in Psalm 23. In verse 6 of the familiar passage it says, “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” Therefore, you can find comfort in knowing that God never rejects you. In fact, He constantly and consistently pursues you with His love.
You should always strive to treat everyone like you want to be treated and never judge others. But after you’ve done all that you can to do right by them, don’t ever internalize their rejection towards you. Embrace the fact, that God loves you unconditionally and pursues you relentlessly. His approval is all you need to have peace.
