“Number 1 for departure, cleared for takeoff!” Those were the words of the pilot as we prepared for our flight. I couldn’t help but think how Jesus Christ has declared the same for you and I as it pertains to our journey here on earth.
Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
You have a lot of choices to make in life and one of the most important is how you intend to pursue God’s plans for you. You must understand that things won’t always be easy just because they are His plans for you. In fact, there will be times when the steps you have to take are down right difficult, the tasks seem daunting and you feel you don’t have strength for the journey.
It is during those difficult times that you must allow your faith to grow by trusting wholeheartedly in God’s plan. He will give you what you need to succeed mentally, physically and spiritually.
Sometimes we think we are in control of a situation when we really aren’t. I know one reason I get a bit anxious when flying is because I have to relinquish my fate to a total stranger. As we prepared for takeoff and the wheels left the ground, I was reminded that God is always in control of my life and my destiny. You must rest in this same assurance as it pertains to every area of your life.
Although you don’t have physical wings of an eagle to aid you, what you do have is even better. You have the wings of a host of angels God has given charge over you to cover you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). So as you navigate unknown territory on the path to your destiny, take comfort in knowing He will give you the strength you need to run and not be weary, to faint not and to soar like an eagle!
