The Benefit Of Giving

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “It's better to give than to receive.” Well, it’s actually based on a biblical proverb found in Acts chapter 20. If you attempt to apply carnal logic to this approach, it maybe somewhat difficult to understand.  However, when the principle is approached spiritually, it makes perfect sense.

No matter your status in life, you can always be a blessing to those less fortunate than you. Your gifts don’t always have to be tangible in the form of finances. Your intangible gifts of prayer, service and support are equally valuable. The fact of the matter is that no matter the gift, God will bless you abundantly as you strive to be a blessing to others.

When it comes to giving, you can find no better example to emulate than God.  He gave His only begotten Son as the ultimate sacrifice and expression of His love for you. Although you will never be able to beat God giving, it doesn’t hurt to try.

“I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”Acts 20:35 KJV
