Some days it may seem like you just can’t go on. The cause may be mental, physical, emotional, spiritual or all of the above. The pressures of life can really get you down, but you must stay encouraged.
Thankfully, when you have one of those days when you just don’t know how you’re going to make it, all you have to do is remember the joy of the Lord is your strength. As with everything else in your daily walk, God has provided all you need to get through difficult situations.
Nehemiah 8:10 says, “And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”
It’s important to remember that true joy comes from the Lord. Oftentimes we search for happiness, but being happy depends on what’s happening. When you have the joy of the Lord in your heart, circumstances are irrelevant. The only thing that matters is your faith in God.
You should do as Nehemiah recommends in verse 8. Recognize the sacredness of each moment and trust God to strengthen you in the midst of your storm. If you put your trust in Him and seek His will for your life, He will fill your heart with joy. Go and celebrate!
