I have a friend who always says, “We know nothing.” She usually chuckles or sighs after she says it. What she is referring to is how you perceive things when you are trying to trust God while exercising your faith. You may have found yourself thinking similar thoughts while being perplexed about what you should do or what God is trying to teach you.
Scripture demonstrates how normal you are when you find yourself puzzled by life experiences. 1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT says, “Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.”
You were not created to know all the answers. If you did, what would be the purpose of faith? As you look into a mirror the view is distorted and in Biblical days the reflection was much dimmer. In order for you to see things clearly, God has to reveal them and himself to you.
When Jesus returns you will get clear vision and insight from Him face to face. Your vision on earth is limited because God’s revelation has only been in part. As you develop your relationship with him you began to see more clearly.
One day you will know God as He knows you. Your Father knows everything about you. Even the hairs on your head have been numbered. As a result of your faith in Him for salvation, you will spend the rest of your days getting acquainted. You do that by seeking His face through the Word and fellowship with Him.
