Nowadays you tend to get excited about a lot of things. However, how’s your delight in the Lord? When you delight in the Lord, you enjoy the blessings found in him not simply because they benefit you. Simply put, do you value the gift more than the giver?
God will give you the desires of your heart, but they must be in alignment with his will. Delighting in him will produce righteous desires. Those desires will not be rooted in selfishness. It is impossible to convince him to give you something that’s not good for you. If your prayer is selfish, it’s not of God.
To have a truly joyful life, always seek to delight yourself in the Lord. As your desires are in sync with his, your requests will be honored. It’s really quite simple, delight in him and you’ll want what he wants. He always wants what’s best for you!
“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” Psalm 37:4
