At some point your heart will be broken. This is not a message of doom and gloom, rather a statement of fact. It is impossible to live in a sin sick world and not suffer heartbreak. The question becomes what do you do when your heart is broken?
The answer is quite simple, you must look to God. Psalm 34:18 (NLT) says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” God is always there to comfort, strengthen and heal your broken heart.
Although you must experience the trials and troubles of life, if you call upon the name of the Lord, He draws close to you to surround you with grace, love and kindness.
It is natural to feel like God is far from you when you are broken hearted. During the tough times, your judgment is clouded by emotion and you simply cannot see the hand of God moving on your behalf. You may even try to figure things out on your own or seek refuge in the wrong people or places.
So, how do you heal a broken heart? Run to the Lord, who draws nigh to you and allow your act of faith to reveal His presence, give you peace and heal your heart.
