Today I’m waking up to a difficult reality. You know the type of reality that others can create for you? They can be altering and make you feel like you have zero control over your life.
You’re often told you must play the hand you’re dealt. Your quality of life is based upon a series of choices. I had to make a life altering choice recently. The type my flesh didn’t want, but my spirit knew was necessary.
Making serious choices can be emotionally disturbing. Especially, when your choice is birthed through being forced to deal with the choices others make that affect you. There you are when the consequences of someone else’s choices are staring you in the face and you must accept the new reality they created for you.
What should you do? When this happens, and it will, you must remember that God’s Grace is sufficient for you! 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT) says, “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”
This was the response Paul received after asking on three separate times for God to remove the thorn in his flesh. Instead of granting the request, God explains that His grace is sufficient.
God is the source of all your help. As you look to him for wisdom and guidance, it will strengthen your faith in Him and give you the wisdom to make choices which line up with His will for your life.
The rose is one of nature’s most beautiful creations. Yet, it’s existence is surrounded by thorns. However, it’s not the thorns that get your attention, it’s the beauty of the rose. The thorns represent your dependence on God.
If you could solve all your problems, pride would set in and you’d begin to act as if you don’t need God. The thorns are your reminder that you can face any challenge (thorn) with the grace of God to help you!
