Sowing and reaping is an agricultural example of a spiritual manifestation. Your tears can serve as silent prayers to God’s ears. You may have been taught that tears are a sign of weakness. However, to the contrary, they can be a sign of great strength. Because being vulnerable requires a lot of courage. When you cry out to God, He not only hears you, He comforts and strengthens you.
Think of how a baby cries out for everything they need. As a result of those tears, their needs are met. It is no different with you and your Father, God. Those tears that are sown out of desperation, frustration, confusion or pain are met with God’s care and compassion. He already knows what you have need of and He’s faithful in meeting those needs.
Your tears of sorrow are an expression of your dependence on God and the seeds to reaping a harvest of great joy. I offer the iconic lyrics of Andre’ Crouch to give you another perspective for analyzing your tears. “For if I'd never had a problem, I wouldn't know God could solve them I'd never know what faith in God could do.”
Psalm 126:5 - “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.” Continue to cry out to God knowing that none of your prayers go unanswered and His response is always what’s best for you. Just as parents want what’s best for their child, He wants the same for you!
