The Gift of Life

The first words out of your mouth each day should be, “Thank You.”  You should be thanking God for the gift of life.  You may have heard people say, “Here today, gone tomorrow.” The proverbial saying is to remind you of how precious each moment of your life is and how not a moment should be taken for granted.

Each is another day of grace and you should live each day as if it were your last.  This doesn’t mean you should throw caution to the wind and live recklessly. Instead, you should be fully present and intentional about living a life that reflects the spirit of Christ within you.

If you think about the shortness of life, you will realize that it’s like a vapor that disappears in an instant.  Therefore, you should treasure this day and ask yourself, “What will you do with the time you are given?” Essentially, what will be your legacy?

To totally appreciate each day, your life must be filled with a desire for wisdom from God. You need his wisdom so you may experience a life full of righteousness and purpose.

So in addition to telling God, “Thank You”, each morning, ask him for wisdom to guide you through the day!

“Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” Psalms 90:12 NLT
